Please Welcome These New Hires!

The ministers are pleased to announce that we have filled all our open staff positions with people who will add a plethora of experience and knowledge to our UUCA community and staff.  Please welcome them when you see them on Sundays.

Mary Ann Stein will be our new Congregational Administrator beginning in January.  She was Director of Volunteer Services, Community Outreach, and Spiritual Care at Marlborough Hospital in Marlborough, Mass. She holds a B.A. in Computer Science from San Diego State University. An avid foodie and wellness advocate, Mary Ann enjoys a good meal, playing tennis, and riding her bike around town. Most recently, Mary Ann volunteered at Beach Cities Health District and Pacific UU in Los Angeles where her husband, George, worked at SpaceX. When George retired earlier this year, they decided to move to Annapolis to be closer to family. Mary Ann has executive-level experience in strategic management in hospital systems and specializes in managing large groups of volunteers, memberships, vendors, and budgets; she is a CAVS (Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services).

Femi Aje will be our new Building/ Facilities Manager.  We have signed a contract with his company BEES (Building and Engineering Elite Services, LLC) beginning in January.  His firm has been instrumental in supporting an array of clients: residential, commercial, non-profit organizations, and individuals with all their property maintenance needs. In the past year, his company successfully performed emergency tree removal services, roof leak repairs, debris and landscaping restoration services, and other property repair and maintenance services. Femi is a graduate of the University of Maryland where he was a scholar athlete (football) and also a finance and economics major.  He was referred to us by member Joi Howard.

David Hartless will be our weekend Sexton beginning in January.  He will primarily help with odds and ends on Sundays (and some Saturdays when we have events).  This will include helping to organize tables and chairs, and making sure doors are opened or locked and that classrooms have what they need for church on Sunday.  David was lead facilitator of our prison ministry in Jessup, Maryland for many years.

Marguerite Guare, who lives in Arnold, Maryland, will be our new Bookkeeper beginning in January.  She brings deep knowledge of accounting, systems management, and customer service.  She is currently serving as a bookkeeper for several organizations including the Maryland Association of Soil Conservation Districts and the Maryland Arborist Association where she processes grants, budgets, expenses, deposits, prints checks, reconciles bank statements, and compiles financial reports for board meetings.  Previously, she attended UUCA’s Mindfulness Practice Group and some of our Sunday morning services.

When you see these incredible people, please welcome them into our community.
