Congregational Meeting May 21, 2023 Notice!

An email of our formal announcement of the meeting – as required by our bylaws – was sent on May 7, 2023.
Dear UUCA members,
Also, please attend one of our “Congregational Town Halls” – these are important opportunities to prepare for the Congregational Meeting. There you can learn more about the issues and have more time to discuss and ask questions, and provide feedback. (Time will be more limited at the actual Congregational Meeting). Congregational Town Halls will be held on Sunday 5/7 at 6 pm and Wednesday 5/10 at 7 pm via our Worship Zoom link, and Sunday 5/14 during After Hour, in person at the church as well as on Zoom.
At this Congregational Meeting, we plan to use Robert’s Rules of Order. We will have our meeting facilitated by a Moderator, as we have in years past. Melanie Keller will serve in this role. She will be assisted by Bob Ertman, who will serve as parliamentarian.
We have two items on the agenda which will require votes. The language of these 2 motions, as offered by the UUCA Board of Trustees, is noted below. Please note that in order to vote, you must be a member, and you must have made a financial pledge within the last year.
1) Nominations Slate – Motion: “The congregation authorizes acceptance of the nomination slate as offered by the Nominating Committee.”
2) Lawrence Ave Property – Motion: “The congregation authorizes the sale of our Lawrence Ave. property by the executives – with board approval of the specific terms of sale.”
Other items will also be on the agenda for the Congregational Meeting on 5/21. These do not require a vote:
