In the final concert of the 2020 season, UUCA’s Arts in the Woods presents four soloists from the Annapolis Chamber Music Festival (ACMF) in a free virtual concert this Sunday, November 15th, at 3:00 p.m. The musicians are part of an ensemble that has performed at various venues in Annapolis each summer since 2016—until Covid curtailed in-person appearances this year. The program for November 15 will include solo works for cello, flute, violin, and bassoon which, despite being played in distant places, reflect the intentional eclecticism and personal touch that have become central to the ACMF concert experience. Featured performers include: cellist Madeline Fayette, based in New York, who is part of a new generation of artist-teachers creating audiences through inventive community engagement and compelling performance; flutist Isabel Lepanto Gleicher, a soloist, chamber musician, and educator whose international career includes performances throughout Europe, China, Japan, Canada, and the United States; Matheus Souza, a Brazilian violinist, instructor, and conductor with an eclectic musical background that stems from his early interest in Choro, a form of Brazilian popular music; and bassoonist Rémy Taghavi, an active chamber and orchestral musician based in the Northeast, who is principal bassoon of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra and on the faculty of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Spanning instrumentation, time period, and geography, their program is sure to be delightfully unexpected. It will conclude with an archival performance of a work featuring the full ACMF ensemble.

This final concert in the Arts in the Woods 2020 series will continue to be available for future online viewing following its launch on November 15th at 3:00.
