Join us for the 18th Wendi Winters Memorial Blood Drive and help save lives in honor of Wendi’s legacy of compassion and service.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, the February 21 blood drive welcomed 132 donors and collected 157 units of blood, with the potential to save 471 lives.
Every donation makes a difference. Blood supplies are needed every day for accident victims, cancer patients, surgical procedures, and countless others facing medical emergencies.
Please consider giving the gift of life and help us continue this important tradition of service and remembrance.
Donate blood. Honor Wendi. Save lives.

A little about Wendi:
Since the horrific Capital Gazette shooting on June 28, 2018, there have been fifteen blood drives in memory of American Red Cross blood drive volunteer and journalist, Wendi Winters. Wendi tragically lost her life, alongside four others, in the workplace shooting. This blood drive is anticipated to collect around 200 pints of blood to help ensure those in the hospital due to an emergency, difficult childbirth or complicated surgery receive the blood products they need to survive.
Wendi Winters, a “proud Navy mom,” church youth adviser, Girl Scout troop leader and Red Cross volunteer, dedicated much of her life to serving those who needed help. Wendi’s heroic actions saved the lives of several colleagues at the Capital Gazette; and since her passing over 3,000 units of blood have been donated in honor of those actions—resulting in potentially more than 3,000 lives saved.
