This congregation—that’s all of us—hopes you find this a place where your gifts and values come to life and your spirit grows.

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis UUCA)   is a member of the Unitarian-Universalist Association (UUA)—an association of liberal congregations but not a governing body. Our church governs itself. We invite you to become a member and add your voice.

The Board of Trustees is made up of eight members plus the called ministers; they serve in trust for the congregation. Staying in close touch with the congregation, the Board articulates the church’s vision through its Governing Policies and, referring to those policies, monitors the work of the Executive Team. The Board speaks only through its written policies decided by discussion and consensus or voting.  For a more detailed explanation of governance, see the tab “How We Govern.”

Board of Trustees Covenant 

As members of the Board of Trustees of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, we covenant the following:

• To interact with honesty, authenticity, and compassion;
• To work cooperatively toward our goals while appreciating each other’s unique gifts;
• To assume positive intentions of one another;
• To practice using language that is clear, positive, and future-oriented;
• To release individual ownership of our ideas;
• To speak with one voice regarding Board decisions;
• To conduct our relationships to reflect the vision of the beloved community;
• To work in the best interests of the congregation; and
• To be accountable for our words and actions.
