The UU Church of Annapolis encourages learning, growth, and connection at all ages. Our Adult Classes provide space for exploration on Sunday mornings and beyond.
During the “church year” from mid-September to mid-May, we have Middle Hour from 10:10-11:10 AM between our two Sunday services. Middle Hour is a time for all ages to deepen their connections to their beliefs, to each other, and to the wider world. While children and youth are attending their age-appropriate Religious Exploration classes, we encourage adults to attend an Adult Class.
What’s happening in Middle Hour for Adults?
To find out what’s going on this week, check In the Know. For a look ahead at the month, see Highlights. On Sunday mornings, you can also check the information boards located inside the front and lower entrances. These will list all the classes and locations for Middle Hour that morning.
If you want to “go deeper” with the themes and topics of the worship service, head downstairs to the RE Sanctuary for a discussion facilitated by the Worship Lay Ministers.
Other opportunities for learning, growth, and connection will be offered by ministers, staff, and church members & friends — including yoga, mindfulness, haiku, humanism, African American history, Transgender 101, dance, etc.
Do you want to facilitate an adult class?
If you would like to offer an Adult Calss, you need not be an expert, just interested in sharing something you love with your faith community. Contact Rev. Christina for next steps.
In order to provide a wide variety of offerings, with a range of topics and learning styles, the Connections Team has created a few policies. Our hope it also to provide opportunities for leadership among a large number of church members and friends. Classes are allowed pending approval from the Connections Team for up to three sessions, consecutive or sporadically (eg, Humanism, Mindfulness, Yoga, Dia de los Muertos). Alternatively, the classes can be once a month if the sessions allow for a wide variety of learning (eg, World Religions, famous UUs, Social Justice topics, various music practices, etc.).
