The Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis comes together as a community of all ages, knowing that young and old can learn from each other and enrich one another’s lives.

Worship- Children and youth of all ages attend the 9:00 or 11:15 am service with their family or friends. Youth over age 10 (or younger if they wish) are welcome to stay for the whole service and engage in meaningful ways – to volunteer as an usher, greeter, lay minister, choir singer, musician, or sound booth operator.

Celebration Sundays- A few times a year, we enjoy a special multigenerational service in which all ages are present for the entire time (no childcare). These services usually celebrate an important holiday or UU celebration, and are crafted to speak to different generations and different learning styles, including great music, story, ritual, and movement. During the church year when RE is held during Middle Hour, there will still be RE classes at that time on Celebration Sundays.

Family Ministry- The Unitarian Universalist Family Ministry (UUFM) is in flux. To help out, contact Elise. In the meantime, consider joining the UUs Raising Children Facebook page.

Seasonal Events- Each year we have several events to bring the whole community together for fun and fellowship. These events welcome all ages, and we encourage families, singles, kids, and elders to attend!! Volunteers are needed to make these events successful.

Potluck Church Picnic (Sept. 10) – After the 10:00 AM service, join us for a potluck picnic for all ages on the church       grounds.

Halloween Party (Oct. 30, 12:30-2PM) – A fun day-before-Halloween spooky fall party. Bring a dish to share for a potluck lunch, buy a pumpkin here or bring your own, plus pumpkin painting and carving, fortune telling, face painting, games, and more.  Wear your costume to church that day!

Stone Soup (Dec. 10, 4-8 PM) – Join us for our annual holiday event and re-telling of the classic story of creating community with our individual gifts. We will decorate our tree, share soup, and sing songs. Bring an ingredient to help make soup, and drop it off that morning before worship, or a pre-cooked ingredient at 4:00 PM. Bring a potluck dish to share at 4:00 PM.

Christmas Eve Worship Services (Dec. 24, 5:00, 7:00 or 9:00 PM) – Three candlelight services mark the night before Christmas at UUCA. The 5:00 PM service is led by our Intern Minister and is specifically tailored for families with children. 7:00 and 9:00 PM are more traditional.

UU Passover Seder (April 8, 5-8:00 PM) – Our UU take on the traditional Jewish retelling of the Israelites escape from bondage in Egypt. A family-friendly event led by our members who identify as Jewish or from Jewish heritage, with plenty of food, ritual, songs, and activities for all ages. Come full and leave full — the meal takes place at the end!
